Requests for information from law enforcement, government entities, or private litigants that are not made under the individual’s authorization must be accompanied by a valid subpoena, court order, or warrant, as required by law. Out-of-state legal process must be properly domesticated under Minnesota law. We do not accept verbal or informal requests for personal information. For customer data we process on behalf of our business customers (including any protected health information), we act as a processor and business associate: we will refer such requests to the affected customer, will not disclose that data except as legally required, and will notify the customer where legally permitted so they may respond or seek protection. Handling of that data is governed by our Master Services Agreement, Data Processing Agreement, and Business Associate Agreement.

Use of the Cross Matter platform by a law firm is governed by a separate written agreement — a Master Services Agreement, an Order Form, a Business Associate Agreement, and a Data Processing Agreement. These are provided during the sales process and are not published here.
